To save on resources, at DFRC we combine our regular meetings with those of our partner organisation, the Australian Marine Conservation Society. In this way, Dive Industry workers and other reef-loving members of the community can combine our efforts and work together to protect our Reef.
These meetings are held at Cominos House, 27 Greenslopes Street, Cairns, on a roughly fortnightly basis, usually on a Wednesday or Thursday afternoon. Anyone in Cairns who is interested in volunteering is therefore encouraged to come along and say hi to us, where you will be able to meet DFRC coordinator Tanya Murphy and many other like-minded people! To find out when our next meeting is, please Contact Us to express your interest. It's also a good idea to follow us on Facebook, and join the Facebook group for AMCS Cairns as well!
Writers & Content Creators Wanted
Are you a member of the Great Barrier Reef diving community who is passionate about Reef protection? Are you also a creative person and a strong communicator? We are looking for volunteers with a strong knowledge of the Great Barrier Reef, to contribute content such as blog posts, editorial, videos, vlogs, photos, and social media posts.
So, if you have any experience with writing, public speaking, journalism, media, communications, marketing, social media, graphic design, web design, photography, videography, or education, we'd love to hear from you! By volunteering to contribute content to DFRC, not only will you help to raise awareness about the threats to our Reef, but you can gain exposure and experience for your CV.
